About Me:
I have always loved organizing! Growing up, I would organize drawers and closets for fun. I read magazines for tips about how to simplify and make better use of storage. I was also the kid who was constantly reorganizing the family 'junk drawers,' which inevitably ended up disorganized quite quickly!
When a friend shared Marie Kondo's book "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up," it resonated with me so much. Many of Marie's childhood organizing stories sounded so much like my own. And her positive philosophy of keeping what you love instead of trying to throw out 'enough things' was powerful for me. I began my own Tidying Festival and haven't looked back. It was not a perfect journey through the categories but rather a slow adopting of the ideas. Over time, I honed my "joy-checking" skills and began to learn more about myself - what items I loved, what items supported me now, and even how I wanted to be spending my time. |

I did eventually make it through the categories in order! It is quite something to really confront your belongings. It's fun to see what items you have been stock piling... I can't tell you how many old empty binders that I found! It was quite a few bags of them by the time I finished. I'm not sure why I was keeping so many, especially since they were not sparking any joy!
What I especially loved about the KonMari Method® was that, even though this is not the intended focus of the method, it fits so well with the Christian faith. The method focuses on gratitude, stewardship, and joy - three very important things in Christianity! I love being able to focus on thanking God for my blessings and also on sharing those blessings with others when items no longer serve me. It gives bigger purpose to going through my belongings and thinking about how my home organization can support the life to which He has called me.
My background is in teaching middle school. I continue to tutor students and support middle school parents as well as help people get physically organized. I love helping people find solutions to everyday problems - whether it is how to study for a science test, what type of checklist or routine change could help make the morning rush a little smoother, or how to rearrange a room into a nursery.
It is so rewarding to watch the relief and joy on people's faces as they transform their physical spaces and make steps towards enjoying their lives even more. I love helping people to reflect on their goals in life and then use their home organization as a support to fulfilling those dreams.
I look forward to helping you on your transformational journey!

Flourish Organizing is a safe space for you to reflect, learn and grow. I know that it can be tough to ask for help and share your frustrations and goals. I recognize that you are inviting me into your lives and your homes, and I am honored to support you in this journey.
