Guest author Soledad Buznego shares tips on how to digitize your VHS family videos!
KonMari tackles sentimental items (such as photos, memorabilia, heirlooms, etc.) as the last category of the tidying festival, because when you reach to this point you have already honed your spark joy sensibility and are in a better position to decide whether an item will serve a good purpose in your life. By the time I did my tidying festival -I have to be honest- I didn’t check these cassettes (shame on me! I know) but mainly because I had forgotten they even existed and because they were not 100% mine, they were my whole family’s.
Our Summer Declutter Challenge has begun! I will be posting short daily challenges on Instagram to get you started.
This week, the theme is "mental clutter". Yesterday's first step was getting everything out of your head and writing down a to do list of tasks you've been meaning to do. We will continue this week by prioritizing and writing more focused to do lists. Next week, we will be taking a look at our clothes. You can either do one challenge or try them all!
I am thrilled to announce that I am a Bronze Level Certified KonMari Consultant!
This means that I have over 150 hours of in-home organizing experience working with clients specifically in the KonMari Method of tidying. This method was created by Japanese organizer Marie Kondo, host of the popular Netflix show "Tidying Up".
I completed my KonMari consultant certification course in New York and now offer in-home sessions in Houston, Texas.
Let me know if you would like some help as you complete your own Tidying Journey!
Some people mistakenly believe that Marie Kondo's method is about Minimalism... about living with only the bare essentials... about getting rid of as many items as possible. That's not the case! Her method is about living with things that bring you joy. Yes, you may get rid of many items initially if you were living with many items that did NOT bring you joy, but that's ok. Focus on what you are keeping.
The KonMari Method™ is about deciding how you want to live. It's personal. It's an inner reflection and time of getting to know yourself. Your home can be filled with items or have only a few... it's up to you and what makes you happy.
