Spring has arrived! ...and perhaps with it the desire to get your house in order. For me, I feel a pull to clean the windows as well as the baseboards in my house. It makes such a difference when I’m done! I love sparkly-clean windows! If your cleaning supplies are tidy, it makes cleaning much easier and enjoyable! I have a set of cleaning cloths that I keep organized in a drawer. I fold them and store them vertically in a shoebox so that I can easily see them and grab what I need without disturbing the rest. Storing items vertically is a key element in the KonMari Method™. Because it brings me joy every time I open the drawer, I also put them in color order! This is obviously not necessary; do what works best for you! Some things to consider about your cleaning supplies: 1. Do you know where your cleaning supplies are? You have two options: Keep them all in one spot. Or keep them where they are needed. Be careful with the latter... Marie Kondo recommends keeping all of one category stored in one location. The caveat would be an example such as the bathrooms: it may be easier to have a set of cleaning supplies in each bathroom for easy access during cleaning. Again, do what's right for you. 2. Do you have what you need? Make a list and get any necessary supplies. 3. Do you have extra, old, or expired products? Make sure to dispose of them safely.
